boston day

yesterday i drove up to boston to spend the whole day with annie blazejack, the world's greatest! we had planned on doing 'twelves' (twelve paintings in 12 hours) but we decided that it had been too long since we'd seen one another and opted to take things slowly, stopping for coffee and donuts or a quick adventure around her wild studio maze. annie sang a song for our friend, turenne (seen in the video below) and we worked happily for many hours!

the result of this process is less visible in the art i made, none of which i have strong feelings about, but more so in the satisfaction of having worked and pushed and struggled through the painter's block and the frustration to make things for a long period of time. annie gave me a special calendar counting down the days until spring officially comes. each day has a small tropical fish that annie drew (she drew 81 total!) and the date. each day you get to color in a new fish. i hung it above my desk at work!
